BLOCK ISLAND

LOCATION

Block Island is located an hour off the Rhode Island Coast. It’s landscape consists of sparse neighborhoods, seaside cliffs, and lighthouses. It feels somehow frozen in time, isolated.

The population of the island nearly quadruples during the summer months, when the local economy makes its money for the year. But once the summer people leave, those who stay to brave the long cold off-season live on the cusp of society – the sole policeman who patrols the island is, well, one of them after all.

One can’t survive in a place like this without a sense of humor, which is an element ingrained into the DNA of the script. While Block Island is a thriller – it has humor throughout, the patented New England sarcasm and dry wit will shine through to create an all around entertaining experience.

In the 1850s, the whaling community had Nantucket and other nearby islands flush with cash and sending its young men off to sea. Faye will come to learn the legend of this house; it had been home to ship Captains for years and years but  none of them ever returned from sea... Widowing their wives and earning the house’s title.

People on the island came to believe the house cursed, some even say that the caves at the base of the bluffs entombed many of the Whalers who had drowned at sea. The ocean’s current is too rough to ever recover the bodies, leaving their spirits to haunt the house.
